The CHILD unit at Lung Institute is recruiting a Data Analyst for the Drakenstein Child Health Study to carry out this research in this full-time 12-month contract post. The incumbent will be based at Red Cross Hospital and will be responsible for leading statistical analyses related to the primary project outcomes and ongoing statistical support to students and investigators.
Requirements include:
Honours degree in statistics or epidemiology/public health
Previous research and statistical analysis experience (1-3 years)
Knowledge of STATA
Masters degree advantageous
Background in psychosocial research and/or analyses advantageous
Knowledge and experience in longitudinal data analysis is a distinct advantage
Responsibilities include:
Providing statistical support to investigators and students by running specific analyses
Advising investigators and students on statistical approaches to research questions
Data quality control (including input into quality control systems and creating feedback reports)
Compiling datasets as needed for operational reporting and investigators
Developing and maintaining RedCap-based databases, and reporting from such databases
Liaising with relevant investigators regarding database development for new study aspects
Assist with training/ guidance of interns attached to the study
Other administrative support duties as assigned
